ISE is a member of The Oxford Bioethics Network.  OxBioNet is comprised of seven research centres in the University of Oxford concerned with the ethical, legal and social aspects of biomedical and healthcare developments.

The Institute for Science and Ethics (formerly known as Program on Ethics of the New Biosciences) was established in June 2005 with funding from the Oxford Martin School. It is a research project based within the University of Oxford's Faculty of Philosophy. The project has a multidisciplinary team, which includes expertise in medicine, philosophy, practical ethics, sociology and psychology.

Research

The planned program will provide a new paradigm for research. It will be broadly interdisciplinary and there will be close collaboration with scientific institutes within the UK and internationally. It will address cutting edge and future issues arising from scientific advance through working with scientists.
